Today’s another “Let’s see how far we can get Lost Sky’s engine to do things it was never designed to do” day. This is the first battle of Chapter 5, where we see the return of Wriggle. This time she’s an ally. She was too good to have only one appearance and then disappear for the rest of the story. The battle takes place at the Misty Lake near Scarlet Devil Mansion, so the fog effect is in play. Eirin’s arrows are important once more, but the mechanics of the lanterns have been tweaked a bit. This time, instead of Lunarian moonstones, Wriggle’s fireflies are providing the light. Each turn, the light from the lantern grows brighter as more bugs gather.
A preview of things to come:
The next mission is the start of a three part chain. We’ll be revisiting the Youkai Mountain to help out the Kappa and wrap up some unfinished business with one of the Kodama Lords.
The next part involves a magical item that the Kodama Lords are after. We’ll be taking a trip to the eastern border of Gensokyo. This mission is the “Extra” stage of our story, so I want this battle to be pretty tough.
